will . i . am.

Why are folks hating on Willie Randolph so much? He has found a definitive niche for all of his players whether they like it or not… they all get the opportunity to play on a regular basis.

Jose Valentin has been a pleasant surprise and a consistent contributor both offensively as well as defensively to take a stranglehold on the previously unsettled second baseman spot(sorry Anderson Hernandez). in June & July after being total ass cheeks in April and May.

Julio Franco has been doing the job as pinch hitter and every once in a blue moon first baseman. And a great job as team guru/ spiritual leader/player coach.

Chris Woodward is still struggling to get hot since he does not play too often, however he has had a good attitude in knowing he will be needed at some point this season and not pouting.

Endy has been the best 4th outfielder by far in the Major Leagues this year. Don’t be surprised if he gets to 400 plate appearances this year.

Seems like we might have found another good reliever out of the clear blue sky with Henry Owens.

Darren Oliver is having his best year of his life. Let us hope it continues but odds are it wont.

I feel like most of the moves that Willie has made:

giving the players the freedom to play out the uncertainty(i.e. second base, bullpen and 4,5 spots in rotation.),

Leaving Beltran in the 3 spot while 98.75% of the world thought it made sense to have Beltran hit 2nd because of his speed.

Making it clear that Lo Duca is a team leader, if not, the team leader (i.e. when he batted him DH in those last 4,5 games in the AL parks during interleague play) and by batting him 2nd makes the lineup way more potent because of his penchant to move guys over and get clutch hits.

Making sure we have 3 lefties in our bullpen.

Maintaining a consistent stance on his bullpen by cementing Heilman as a short reliever, while 90% of the rest of the world thought he should get a chance to start when Zambrano went down.

I know we feel like Willie’s has made some mistakes but shit, who has not.

The biggest mistakes that loom are really another man’s shortcomings(Senor Wagner’s).

So all in all…..great job Willie Randolph!! u gets love from me, even though you are from Brooklyn……
